Computer
· A computer is an electronic device which operates under control of instruction stored in its memory.
· A computer is a device which can accept data as input, process data in specified sequence of rules and produce information as output.
· A computer is a programmable machine. Which can be programmed by using programming languages.
Characteristics of a Computer :-
· Accept data (input).
· Stores the data/instructions in its memory and use them when required.
· Processes data and converts it into useful information.
· Generate information(output).
Quick History :-
First digital computer was built during World War 2nd
(1943-1946).
It was designed to help automate the calculations being done by Human
computer. For achieving results much faster.
The name of first digital computer was ENIAC. This computer was based on vacuum
tubes.
Computer Generations:-
Computer generation terminology is related with the changes occurs in digital computer.

Any kind of computer consist of two things/parts Hardware and Software.
A computer needs both hardware and software for proper functioning .
HARDWARE:-
In simple words we can say
that “the physical part of a computer which can be able to seen by our eye.”
· Hardware is the collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer
system. This is the physical part of a computer system, like mouse, keyboard,
monitor, Hard disk, printer, etc.
All type of physical media connected with computer by any
type of connection (wired or wireless) is called as hardware.
SOFTWARE:-
It is easy to say that,
· A software is a collection of computer instructions or data.
· Anything which is stored electronically in computer or anywhere is Software.
