Rectifiers :-
All electronic
devices requires d.c. power supply for their operations. But domestic power
supply (Household power supply) is in a.c. form. So it requires to convert into
d.c. form. Therefore the device which converts a.c. voltage into d.c.
voltage is called as Rectifier.
In fact rectifier produce unidirectional and pulsating voltage from a.c. source.
- There are two types of rectifiers
1.
Half wave rectifiers
2.
Full wave rectifiers
A.C. voltage : The voltage
whose magnitude and direction of flow is
changed at every time.
D.C. Voltage : The voltage
whose magnitude and direction of flow is constant at every time.
